Since 25 is exactly ¼ of 100, we are able to substitute

**100/4**for it.

*Dividing*by 100/4 is the same as

*multiplying*by

**4/100**.

**Example 1: 14/25 = ___ (decimal)**

- Multiply 14 by 4 to get
**56** - Divide by 100 to get
**.56**

**Example 2: 57/25 = ___ (decimal)**

- Multiply 57 by 4 to get
**228** - Divide by 100 to get
**2.28**

**Example 3: 16/25 = ___%**

- Multiply 16 by 4 to get
**64** - (Divide by 100 to get .64, but then change it to a % by multiplying by 100). Your answer is
**64**.

**Example 4: 3200 ÷ 25 = ___**

- Divide by 100 first to get
**32** - Multiply by 4 to get
**128**

**Example 5: 2900 ÷ 25 = ___**

- Divide by 100 first to get
**29** - Multiply by 4 to get
**116**

**Example 6: 2017 ÷ 25 = ___ (mixed number)**

- Multiply by 4 to get
**8068** - Divide by 100 to get
**80.68** - Convert .68 to a fraction:
**17/25** - Your answer is
**80 17/25**
